I Want It Now!

This bag turns me right into Veruca Salt from Willie Wonka. That famous scene where she is throwing a screeming (/singing) tantrum to her father about wanting a goose that lays golden eggs. Yes. That is how I feel about this ridiculous brown leather weekend bag from m0851.

Footwear Fantasy

At $235, price is the only reason I can come up with why I do not absolutely need this pair of boots. I saw them in Hanig's the other day, and the leather is so soft and looks like they will wear beautifully. Ah...

Dress To Impress

{via Audrey Hepburn Complex}
I need some work dresses! My dresses that I own are either good for going out or hanging at a backyard bbq. I just got back from doing a little shopping...and no luck - couple shirts and some pants. Why am I having such trouble finding a couple 'right' dresses?!?

There's No Place Like Home

Ok, I know the Hunter boot thing has been in for a while - not only are they functional, they are also incredibly stylish. This past weekend at Lollapalooza I saw a girl wearing the original short Hunter boots in glossy red. She had them paired with an adorable navy halter dress. The rain might have put a damper on the morning, but looking at her playful rain wear put a smile on my face. Add to my wishlist - check.

Girls Rule

{via Audrey Hepburn Complex}
I have started a new job recently! One of my favorite things about going into an office and meeting with clients is that I get to dress up in pretty clothes. I love working backstage at concerts more than anything, but all I wear for that is t-shirts and jeans. Now I get to put on pretty dresses and strappy sandals! Yea to being a girl!

Bensimon

While in New York last month, I picked up a pair of elastic slip-on black Bensimons. It is a French brand of shoes - and I am obsessed. Though black is my color choice, they come in a huge rainbow of colors. They are super comfortable, and I wish I could wear them every day...if only sneakers were appropriate for all situations...

ISCOV

I just bought a new bag to use onsite when I am doing production work. Someone I work with has an ISCOV bag, and I fell in love with it. It is a Chinese company that makes beautiful, quality bags. The handles are soft leather, and the insides are mesh - the perfect combination of style mixed with utility. Mine came in the mail today, and I love it!

Spring Style

I love this look from J Crew's Spring Style slide show. Just as they describe it, I adore the 'masculine-feminine mix' that is 'eternally chic'. The black crop pants look great with the tucked-in gray t-shirt, layered necklaces, and boyfriend cardigan.

Black is Back

Not that black was ever out...Ahhhhhh. I love this photo. This is who I want to be. I (of course) for the life of me not figure out where I found it or what designer it is. Either way - the simplicity of the the all monochromatic color palette, the slicked back hair, the skinny pants, and the pointed patten ballet flats all equal perfection. It is so feminine - I am always striving for that balance between not too sexy and not too frumpy. This is exactly it. Love.

Breaking Up

I did a major re-haul on my closet/wardrobe today. Though I only got half way through, I am feeling good. It is energizing to purge many of the items that either don't make me feel good when I where them, or I haven't worn in...forever, or are just not how I want to present myself. Some pieces were harder than others to let go of (bye bye quilted Burberry trench that isn't as fabulous and I thought you once were).

This will definitely be an ongoing process (Jen, a little help?), but I feel hopeful and excited at the prospect of collecting a few new staples that will round out my clothing selection. I am a firm believer in not holding onto too much stuff. It clogs your space physically and mentally. I encourage everyone to follow my lead on this one.

She She

I have been craving pretty shoes lately. A few problems with this: (Un)fortunately I don't really have anywhere to wear them. I would love to be the kind of girl who just looks good all the time, but lets be real - walking my dog, going grocery shopping, and running around working concerts are not the top three places to where a stunning pair of heels. Secondly, I can't afford to allocate my funds to designer wear. Third, I don't have a nice neat place to store/display them. All the shoes I have get destroyed because I pile them on top of each other, and they get smashed and scuffed...a shame really. Ok. that is my rant for the day. I just am holding out hope that one day I have a beautiful and girl-y closet/dressing room like the one pictured.

Girly Girl

I have long been admiring this uber feminine dress from Anthropologie. It has the wonderful substantial weight to it while looking light and dainty. I love the neckline. I love the pockets. I love the ruffles.

Plus, I have been on a search a dress that reminds me of the 'I've Had The Time Of My Life' dress from Dirty Dancing (knee length, peachy-cream, and twirly). I think this might just be the perfect answer to that dilemma for 2010.

Leopard Print

Thank you to my lovely Edwin for these yummy shoes that he just gave me as a birthday present. An animal skin flat is a must as far as wardrobe basics are concerned (according to somebody...), and now they are all mine! Muah!

I Want This

It is so cute I can't stand it. The whole thing. Pink with red ruffles. Are you kidding me? My birthday is on Valentines Day, and this would be a great 'birthday suit'!

Loves Her: Garance Dore

Found the illustration below on Garance Dore's blog. I would love this framed in my house. In addition to her elegant drawings, she also posts a ton of really stylish street fashion photographs from around Paris and beyond.

Here are a few of handsomes she just posted from around Pitti, the menswear trade show. She said she purposely captured the men without them knowing so they appeared more relaxed. Yes please!

Oh My God Shoes

Apparently Paris Hilton has a line of shoes. The new spring 2010 line was just released, and I am in love with this particular pair. The graceful lines of them and the silky fabric are so gorgeous. Plus all her shoes are extremely reasonably priced. I think January Jones' character would wear them in Mad Men if she were going to a fancy soiree. I might just have to go try these on...

Dainty Rings

Check out these adorable yet beautifully elegant gold rings from Rare Device in San Fransisco. They have a ton of interesting and artistic items that are local, handmade, and green.

This is what I would want for my wedding and/or engagement ring. They are so understated - I think by stripping away all the bells and whistles (nothing against big bang diamond rings girls) it truly brings attention to what that ring symbolizes rather than the value of the rock. Plus - it won't clash with any of my gaudy cocktail jewelry!

Now - do I like the yellow, the white, or the rose gold...hmmm...I think I would have to go with rose...

Color Collage: Teal and Sky

I have majorly been slacking on putting together inspiration boards, but I am going to make an effort to get back into it. It is such a great creative outlet for me (especially in these slow times of work)!

So - I have really been loving this combination of rich deep or vibrant teal with soft robins egg or sky blue. I think it looks stunning and decadent when paired with black and gold, but it can also look bright and cheerful when combined with white.

Today I wore a bold teal tank under a black sweater and draped a light blue pashmina over it. There are great subtle way to incorporate this palate into your home or wardrobe (like I did today), but I really love when I see rooms completely clad in deep hues like this. My whole life I have been attracted to this side of the color wheel and have always hoped to have a completely teal room one day...we will see...
