I am so busy these days that I have not had the time to focus on this website. In an effort to get back on the creative train, here are a few lovely pictures that have inpired me recently:

Hipstamatic

I recently downloaded the Hipstamatic app on my iphone and have been having a blast with it. While I am still trying to figure out the different options (lenses and film etc), I will try and put together a collection of photos soon to share!

Fantastical

This room is so striking and catches my eye every time I look at it. I love the soft yet bold colors (from the apple green and periwinkle wallpaper to the bubblegum pink and butter yellow furniture.) The old fashion tufted chairs paired with the carved dark wood side table are such a wonderful contrast to the modern over-sized photograph. What a feminine and creative way to mix styles!

Puerto Rico

Some good friends of mine recently moved to San Juan, Puerto Rico, and I miss them and their beyond adorable twin boys. I recently came across this gorgeous and subdued photograph and thought of them. I must plan a visit at some point.

Paul Costello

When I first saw this picture, it stopped me in my tracks. It is somehow incredibly inspiring to me. I love the soft lighting, the wall of feminine themed paintings, the bowl of flowers, and of course that adorable girl. I found out it was taken by photographer Paul Costello. He has taken gobs of gorgeous photos that I am sure I will feature more of.

Cake!

How stunning is this cake!?! I love the classic white frosted cake covered in unexpected drapings of nude colored fondant. Plus, the styling in this photo is gorgeous - so simple and elegant with the white cake stand, the apricot toned wall with white moldings, and the clean white table.

I am working a photo shoot today using all adorable and charming babies. They are so cute and inspiring. If only we can get their naps, snack times, and giggling moments coordinated!

How adorably whimsical are these photos? They have me day dreaming of walks through bustling city streets, dressing up in pretty clothes, being a girl, going on a date, and eating cake (no other reason than that is what I am always thinking about). What do they make you think of?

Its Official...

I have the winter blues. It happens to many around this time of the year. At first you wonder, 'what is wrong me?' 'Why am I so down?' 'Why can't I get off the couch/out of bed?' Then you think that maybe you need a life change. Then (!) you realize it is just the middle of January. It is snowy, cold, icy, etc. I wish I could escape to somewhere warmer for a while, but for now - I am counting down the days until spring.

It is ABSOLUTELY fridgid here in Chicago right now. Why do I live here again?...

Color Collage: Teal and Sky

I have majorly been slacking on putting together inspiration boards, but I am going to make an effort to get back into it. It is such a great creative outlet for me (especially in these slow times of work)!

So - I have really been loving this combination of rich deep or vibrant teal with soft robins egg or sky blue. I think it looks stunning and decadent when paired with black and gold, but it can also look bright and cheerful when combined with white.

Today I wore a bold teal tank under a black sweater and draped a light blue pashmina over it. There are great subtle way to incorporate this palate into your home or wardrobe (like I did today), but I really love when I see rooms completely clad in deep hues like this. My whole life I have been attracted to this side of the color wheel and have always hoped to have a completely teal room one day...we will see...

Lazy Sunday

I am feeling lazy this morning after some holiday festivities last night. I need to get up the motivation to take my dog for a walk - even though it is cold and wet outside. First...I must have coffee.

I-Opening

My dear friend just got accepted to do his rotation for medical school in Puerto Rico (his number one choice was somewhere in the Caribbean). He has twin boys under two years old - two of the most beautiful children you have ever seen. He is currently working on raising funds to be able to start this new assignment by selling prints of some gorgeous photos that he has taken on his travels. Here are a few of my favorites:

Love the way I Imagine It...

My good friend Alex sent me a link to this website yesterday - Sloan Photographers. It appears that these talented photographers are based out of Kentucky. I am so in love with this set of photos. Their elegance, whimsy, romance, and beauty all struck me as I went through each and every one. This is a sample of two of this particular couple. They are just so charming and adorable and make me daydream about exactly what I have always pictured love to look like.
